02Process

How certification works

Each certificate record follows the same structure, whichever program it belongs to.

  1. 01

    Program

The applicable certification or conformity program is identified.

  2. 02

    Scope

The certified organization or entity, and the product or model where applicable, are recorded.

  3. 03

    Decision

The issuer determines whether a certificate is issued, and for what validity period.

  4. 04

    Record

The certificate is entered into the verification registry with a unique identifier.

Certificate issuance

Certificates are produced as print-ready A4 documents carrying the certificate title, the certification program or standard, the certified organization or entity, the scope, the certificate identifier, the applicable dates, the authorized signatory and a QR verification area.

Digital verification

Every certificate carries a unique identifier and a QR code that resolves to its verification record. The QR code contains only a verification link — never the certificate contents.
