How it works
From certification to public verification.
Certivora is a controlled issuance system with an open verification surface. Certificate records can only be created by authorized administrators; anyone at all can check one.
01Workflow
The certificate lifecycle
- 01
Application / certification
The applicable certification or conformity program is identified, together with the organization or entity and the scope to be covered.
- 02
Review / assessment
The information submitted for the certificate is reviewed against the requirements of the selected program.
- 03
Certification decision
The issuer decides whether a certificate is issued, and records the validity period that applies.
- 04
Certificate issuance
A print-ready A4 certificate is generated with a unique, non-sequential certificate identifier and a QR verification area.
- 05
Digital registry
The certificate is stored as a structured record, including program, scope, dates, signatory and status.
- 06
Public verification
Anyone can enter the certificate number, or scan the QR code, to view the certificate's current verification record.
02Identifiers
Certificate numbers and QR codes
Certificate numbers are generated to be unique and non-sequential, so one certificate number cannot be used to guess another.
The QR code printed on a certificate encodes only a verification link. It never carries the certificate contents, so scanning it always shows the current registry record rather than a copy of the document.
03Archived certificates
Historical certificates
Certificates issued previously, by another issuer or under an earlier system, can be archived in the registry. The original document is preserved exactly as supplied — it is never redesigned, and its original issuer information is never replaced.
Archived records are clearly distinguished from certificates newly issued by Certivora.
